Update on the development of SVR.JS

Published on: March 5, 2025

Since its inception, SVR.JS has been a project focused on providing a fully-featured and powerful web server for Node.js. It has served as a reliable tool for developers looking for an efficient and easy-to-use solution for their web applications. However, as technology evolves, so do our priorities.

In recent months, our focus has shifted towards Ferron, a high-performance web server written in Rust. Ferron is designed to be fast, memory-safe, and efficient, leveraging the strengths of Rust to push the boundaries of what a modern web server can achieve. According to our performance benchmarks, Ferron has demonstrated significantly higher throughput than SVR.JS, reinforcing our commitment to its development.

As a result, the development of SVR.JS has been on hold since Ferron's inception. At this point, we are uncertain if development on SVR.JS will resume in the future. While SVR.JS remains available for use, our primary efforts are now dedicated to refining Ferron, ensuring it reaches its full potential as a next-generation web server.

We deeply appreciate the support and enthusiasm from the SVR.JS community. If you’re interested in high-performance web servers, we encourage you to check out Ferron and join us on this exciting journey. You can learn more about Ferron and try it out by visiting Ferron’s website or exploring the project on GitHub.

Thank you for being part of this experience. Stay tuned for more updates on Ferron’s progress!
